Maundy Thursday

This commemorative evening was held in a small group setting, it could have held many more. Let’s just think we were meant to be that many, God has a purpose, a plan. The evening included a narrative of the last days of Jesus through the Last  Supper. Music in worship, lifted in praise, candles, inncense…foot washing, indeed.  We are told that we are to do this foot washing, such as communion, in remembrance of Jesus. All of the accounts of this time by Matthew, Mark and Luke make me think of the woman with the oil she poured out and her hair as she wiped it on Jesus’ feet, as you use water and a towel, as you think for a moment:  “I’m not doing that…..” . And in the next couple of stubborn moments you don’t but then you do it..and it is done to you. Can we not fully do these things,, after all Jesus has done for us? While I determine not to judge people Easter is the pattern of the day…BUT NOT THIS MAUNDY THURSDAY EVENING!  Let Jesus be praised, honored and worshipped yet still, in our hearts that belong to Him.
